Move-Out and Move-In Cleaning in DFW: What to Expect and How to Prepare
Why move-out cleaning matters
Moving is one of the most stressful things a household goes through. Between packing, hiring movers, transferring utilities and changing addresses, cleaning the place you're leaving is usually the last thing anyone has energy for. Unfortunately, it's also one of the most important.
If you rent, the condition you leave the home in can affect how much of your security deposit you get back. If you're selling, a clean empty house shows better to buyers and makes a good final impression at closing. If you're a landlord or property manager, a thorough turnover clean helps you list the unit faster and attract better tenants. A professional move-out clean takes that pressure off your plate.
What's included in a move-out clean
A move-out clean is built on our deep cleaning checklist, adapted for an empty home. Because there's no furniture or belongings in the way, our crew can reach places that are usually hidden: inside every cabinet, drawer and closet, along every wall, and in the corners where furniture used to stand.
In the kitchen, we clean inside the oven, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher, wipe inside and outside all cabinets and drawers, and degrease counters, backsplashes and the stovetop. In bathrooms, we scrub and descale showers, tubs and glass, clean toilets thoroughly, wipe inside vanities and polish fixtures and mirrors.
Throughout the home, we hand-wipe baseboards, door frames, doors and light switches, dust ceiling fans, vents and light fixtures, clean window sills, tracks and blinds, and finish by vacuuming and mopping every floor.
What landlords and property managers look for
When a landlord inspects a home after a tenant moves out, they tend to check the same places. The inside of the oven and fridge, the bathroom grout and shower glass, the baseboards and the inside of cabinets are common trouble spots. Grease on the range hood, dust on ceiling fans and dirt in window tracks are easy to overlook when you're packing, but they stand out in an empty room.
Our checklist is designed around those areas. We can't promise any specific deposit outcome — that depends on your lease and the condition of the property — but we make sure the cleaning itself isn't the reason for a deduction.
Move-in cleaning: start fresh
Move-in cleaning is the same service from the other direction. Even if a home was cleaned before you got the keys, you have no way of knowing how thoroughly. A move-in clean means the cabinets where you put your dishes, the drawers where you store utensils and the shelves in your closets are all clean before you unpack.
It's also the easiest time to clean. Once the boxes arrive and furniture is in place, many of these areas are much harder to reach. Booking a clean between the previous occupant leaving and your movers arriving is the ideal window.
How to prepare for your clean
The home should be as empty as possible. Remove all belongings, furniture and trash so our crew can reach every surface. Make sure water and electricity are still on — we need both to clean properly, especially inside appliances and on floors.
Let us know how we'll get in, whether that's a lockbox, a code or meeting someone on site. If there's anything specific your landlord or buyer has asked for, share it with us before the visit and we'll prioritize it.
If you have leftover furniture, boxes or junk that won't be coming with you, we also offer junk removal. Many clients book junk removal and a move-out clean together, so the home is emptied and cleaned in one trip.
Timing your move-out clean
The end of the month is the busiest time for moves in Dallas–Fort Worth, so it's best to book early. Ideally, schedule your clean for after the movers have taken everything but before your final walk-through or key handover. That way the home is at its cleanest at the moment it matters.
Most move-out cleans take several hours depending on the size and condition of the home. We'll give you an estimate with your quote so you can plan your day.

Every move-out and move-in clean ends with a walk-through and is backed by our 24-hour re-clean guarantee. If something on the checklist was missed, let us know within 24 hours and we'll come back to fix it.
